Mike Simpson, Prospective Liberal Democrat MP for SW Surrey

The last few years have been pretty awful for the reputation of politicians. The deceit over the Iraq war, the failure of our MPs to properly regulate the banking system and the scandal of MPs on the take - have all left many people angry and disinclined to even vote.

So why am I bothering to try to get elected to Parliament?
